New Year, New Threads
Where will they lead us?
Happy New Year!
Like many of you, our little team is dreaming, wishing, and planning for the year ahead. Despite all the wonderful growth we have had, we’re still in that rare and special place where our company’s plans and ambitions can reflect the very individual and hopeful dreams of our still small team.
We’re excited for the New Year, and as I look at some of the potential titles for our future articles — some very exciting, some a little crazy (Gaâla x Tokyo! or Beaucoup de Boutiques! — I’ll let you guess which might come first) — I find myself very hopeful, too.
But beyond these exciting events, maybe what we hope most for is a year of quiet building, of designing, sewing, and sharing. We’ve learned a lot about pressure this last year, and it hasn’t made us timid — only more sure. I do hope, too, that you will not let the pressure of your ambitions get in the way of your peace of mind, of your simple goals, and of your creativity.
We’d like take a moment to share with you some of our plans for this coming year
Expanding our sustainable lines made from innovative, nature-based fabrics (banana fibers, orange peel, and rose), with beautiful new designs. These items have always held a special place for us — and for many of you. We’re really thankful for how warmly they’ve been received and will continue to keep them at the core of our collections.
Opening new boutiques, and bringing our universe closer to you — physically, not just digitally. The connection we’ve had with everyone who passed through our Paris boutique this past year has been incredibly meaningful. (Thank you to all who visited; meeting you in person has confirmed just how important these spaces are to us.)
Placing Gaâla in more physical spaces, where our pieces can be seen, touched, and tried, and where their design and quality can be appreciated firsthand. Outside of our own boutiques, this means placing Gaâla in beautiful environments — through design café and leisure-space collaborations, as well as hotel and resort partnerships — where our pieces can be experienced in environments that let them breathe.
Reaching new audiences. Gaâla has been available worldwide since the start, but we would like to enter our more distant communities with greater intention — getting closer through our presence and photoshoots that will bring the Gaâla aesthetic closer to home.
Connecting more deeply through words and media by sharing our reflections, inspirations, and the stories behind what we create. While we’ve always shared the beauty of Gaâla’s designs and lifestyle, we want to reveal more of what lies behind those designs and choices — and, most importantly, we want you to ask the questions.
These are just a few of our hopes for the new year. We wish everyone a very special one, full of the very best things.
